Kenny Gallt: Foliage Design Systems of Chicago Inc. was started in 1984 by Kenneth Gallt. He is a Licensed/Registered Landscape Architect with a degree in Landscape Architecture and Horticulture from Cornell University, Ithaca, New York, and a Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture and Regional Planning from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, Michigan. Before starting Foliage Design Systems, Gallt worked for 10 years as the chief landscape architect and construction manager of Church Landscape, building landscapes in Oak Brook and Schaumburg, Illinois, and for the Chicago Botanic Gardens. Gallt served the landscape industry for 16 year, becoming President of the Illinois Landscape Contractors Association in 1989 and was honored by the Oak Brook Chamber of Commerce as Industry as “The Small Business Person of the Year”
Gallt is a member of the American Society of Landscape Architect and a Charter member of the Oakbrook Terrace Lions Club.
Sue Catalano: is a partner in the firm and handles the company’s daily operations. As general manager for the past 20 years she is involved in all aspects of the office and paperwork. Fortunately her years of past experience in the horticultural industry both in Florida and in Buffalo New York, gives her expertise her client come to trust.
Tim Papciak: Oversees all field operation. As Project Manager/Superintendent he is a graduate of the University of Illinois with a Degree in Landscape Architecture. As an Eagle Scout his expertise in all aspects of carpentry, electrical plumbing, mechanical and structural are invaluable in building quality landscapes. He is 6 years with Foliage Design Systems after severing an internship with the company.
Jorge Orozco: 1998 to present, Jorge is one of the multi-talented individuals. Prior to Foliage he worked in the interior landscape for a City company called Fertile Delta for 10 years. Jorge’s knowledge of the interior industry and the plants care is of the highest standards. Jorge runs many of the projects and new installations working with the customers and the technicians that will care for the landscapes on a weekly basis.
Juan Ayala: 2001 to present, Juan runs many of the high profile interior maintenance landscape. Working with Billionaires and plants that cost more than cars, Juan personal and friendly approach to taking care of the customer and the plants make this a winning combination.
Nick LaPointe: Nick a graduate of Southern Illinois University with a bachelors in horticulture and a minor in agriculture business management. He spends his time in both the field installing projects and in the office designing. He has worked numerous jobs in the industry and has a passion for all things plants which include plant pruning, hydroponics, and sustainable landscaping.
Alex Martinez: 2000 to present, Alex is the go to guy. Maintaining major landscapes with 8,000 plants some 60 feet tall Alex has his plate full. While most of his time is servicing these major accounts Alex will be in listed to assist in new installation.
Jorge Izquirdo: 1997 to present, Little Jorge as he is called as he started with FDS when he was 16 years old is one of the most versatile talented individuals. Recently he was nicknamed the “Wizard” as he has a talent for getting machines working, and getting jobs done. We find this Jorge involved in the toughest of the new installation projects.
There are many more people who continue to be vital to our day to day operation, but the foundation is built on the talents and longevity of the above.
